TV REWIND: Supernatural – Season 1

I have been watching a lot of TV shows lately. Among the shows I am hooked on is Supernatural. This show has been on the air for a while now, and has been getting increasingly better as the season progresses. The show has a 9.1/10 star rating on IMDb, voted by the average viewer. After I looked up the show on, I noticed that the top rated episodes of Supernatural all happen after the first season, and the first season was actually really good.

The show is about two brothers on a cross-country roadtrip searching for their father, who recently went missing. On the way to find their father, the brothers Sam and Dean stop other life-threatening creatures from wreaking havoc. Also, along with searching for their father, they are also trying to stop a powerful demon who killed their mother several years before.

The show got about 100 times better in the last half of the first season. When everything came together. When they found their dad, or rather, he found them. It’s always great to see a family battle evil together. All the way to the startling suspenseful season finale. I can only imagine how it must have been for the audience watching on the original airdate. It must have killed them to wait three months for the show to come back. Luckily, I have the opportunity to start watching the second season right away!

In a lot of ways, this show reminds me of the old TV show “The X-Files.” It has the same basic background story. Instead of Moulder and Skully, it’s Sam and Dean. The one thing I really love about this show is how many allusions they point out in each episode, mostly in the form of Dean’s sarcasm.

Well, I’ll get started with the second season, and write my review as soon as possible, so check back later for that, peace out!
